“Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.” – Luke 12:27
Spring is probably my favorite season. The grass getting greener, the birds flying back from their winter homes, the trees budding out and making leaves, and of course the flowers blooming all around. The new life we see in Springtime should be a reminder to us of a few things.
First we should remember God’s power and might. As we look around we should be in awe at His handiwork. All the colors, smells, shapes, and sizes are something no man could ever attempt to recreate.
Next we should take note of His love for us. God has not only created these beautiful things, He allows us to enjoy them.
Finally we should be reminded of the endurance of God’s Word. In Isaiah 40:8 we read “The grass withereth, the flower fadeth; but the word of our God shall stand forever.”
The flowers may not last forever, but God’s Word will!
