Late Is Not Too Late.

In Luke 8:40-56 we learn of Jesus being asked of Jairus, ruler of the synagogue, to come to his home and heal his sick and dying daughter. Before Jesus would get there, He was surrounded by people and out of the crowd a woman with an issue of blood touched the hem of His garment as He passed. She believed it would be enough to be healed of her condition. And so it was! Her faith in Christ had made her whole! Not just physically but also spiritually! She was not only healed but saved! Amen!

However, as this was taking place, time was lost in order to attend to the sick daughter of Jairus. Someone from the home of Jairus came to him “saying to him, Thy daughter is dead; trouble not the Master.”  Imagine the sorrow and disappointment! The messenger suggested to no longer bother Jesus. All hope was lost and it was too late. She had died and there was nothing else that could be done. No point in going to Jesus now! “But when Jesus heard it, he answered him, saying, Fear not: believe only, and she shall be made whole.” What an amazing statement! What we learn from this is, it is never to late to invite Jesus into your home! Jesus is not only able to restore, He is able to make all things new!

Is your marriage dead? Is your loved one a prodigal and seemingly too far gone into sin? Maybe you yourself had walked with God for a time and it seemed as if He was about to do great things in your life. But then there was a delay, a setback, a certain time had passed and the things you had been praying for and waiting for seems to be too late to do anything about now! No point in bothering the Lord now right? Wrong! Invite Christ back into your home and your life! Place your faith in Him again! “Believe only” and see what the Lord will do. A delayed answer to prayer does not have to be an unanswered prayer! Never underestimate inviting Christ into your home! Even if it seems it’s too late. Late is never too late for Christ!

Mercy Mercy

“Mercy and truth preserve the king: and his throne is upholden by mercy.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭20:28‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Mercy is mentioned twice while truth only once. This isn’t to say mercy is more important than truth, but that it often takes twice as much mercy in dealing with truth. Consider us as we stand before the Lord, what would be of us if He dealt with us only according to truth and not mercy? For indeed “…It is of the LORD’S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.” – Lamentations 3:22

Hotheaded and Coldhearted.

Unresolved anger is not lessened with time. Often times, time to cool off results in a frigid bitter heart. Satan’s best work is done with a hot head and a cold heart. For this cause it is written “Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: Neither give place to the devil.” – Eph 4:26-27

Like restraining water from a burning building so it with harboring anger and unforgiveness. The less time given to reconciliation is more time given to destruction. Just as bad as reacting in instant anger is lingering in it. Stewing in our anger often results in plotting our revenge. As Charles Spurgeon said: “One of the hardest things in the world is to be angry and not to sin.”

Make A Withdraw!

It is said of the Lord’s mercies that “They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.” – Lamentations 3:23

God’s mercies are deposited into an account on your behalf morning by morning. The problem is many go day by day without accessing the account! His mercies are new but your sins are old. When sinful transgressions go without grace transactions day to day, week to week, year to year…you’re operating from an unnecessary deficit of spiritual poverty!

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭1:9‬ ‭

The account is full, make a withdraw!

Look Up!

In Jeremiah 10:23 it says “…the way of man is not in himself”. Then in Proverbs 20:24 is says “Man’s goings are of the LORD; how can a man then understand his own way?”

These verses illustrates the fallacy of the modern teaching “be true to yourself” and “all that you need is within you” or “follow your heart” and etc. Such teachings are simply telling you to do what feels right at the moment, wing it and let the ever changing tied carry you. Which is the best mankind looking inward can do because “the way of man is not in himself” therefore “how can a man then understand his own way?”

Quit looking in and start looking up! Quit trusting in self and start trusting in the Saviour! Christ is called the Good Shepard for a reason! Invite Him into your heart, trust Him with your life and give Him your hand! In so doing, you will find meaning, purpose and direction! Start by looking to Him, not within!
